Zion Lutheran - Rural Dexter
We have been called the “Church in the Woods” because of the beautiful location that God has provided for our building. In the purest sense a church is not a building but the followers of Jesus that gather together for worship and service. We love to do exactly that!
We appreciate each and every person, whether they are first time visitors or long time regulars. Our worship blends more modern praise music with wonderful hymns that have been around for generations. Learning Biblical truths with contemporary applications is a passion that we have grown to love. A special focus of learning for us this year has been on Biblical hospitality. It has been fun to seek to apply what we are learning in a variety of ways.
No matter your family dynamics, you’re welcome here. Our intent is to serve the whole family. During our worship service we encourage your entire family to join in on this family friendly environment.
We also like gathering in other settings and connecting to others from the community. Vacation Bible School, picnics, family and youth activities, and a Valentine’s banquet are some of our recent special events.
Even during the challenges of Covid we found creative ways to grow together — our parish spent a week in Mexico helping at an orphanage, and we went on a wilderness adventure in and around the Boundary Waters. More ministry adventures are being planned for this year. Please contact Pastor Mark if you are interested in learning about future opportunities.
