Core Beliefs
Zion Churches (Mt Sion Lutheran, Kasson and Zion Lutheran, Dexter) are part of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC), which is a fellowship of Lutheran congregations freely choosing to associate together for encouragement and common ministry activities.
Our Main Focus
Loving God. Loving People. Loving Life.
Not in our own strength, but through the grace, forgiveness, and love of Jesus.
Our Core Beliefs
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that there is one God who has revealed Himself as Creator (God the Father), Redeemer (God the Son – Jesus Christ) and Sanctifier (God the Holy Spirit). (Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe that Jesus Christ – true God and true man – is the only way of salvation. (John 14:6)
We believe that Christians are to be salt and light in the world. (Matthew 5:13-14)
We believe that worship services are to be simple, orderly and joyfully centered on God’s Word. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
We believe in and uphold the three Christian creeds which unite all Christians around the world; the Apostles, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds.
We hold to the particular Creeds which also unite Lutherans around the world – the Small Catechism and the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, as well as the Fundamental Principles of the AFLC.
